AUSTIN, Texas – Charlotte pole vaulter Riley Felts earned Second Team All-America honors at the NCAA Championships in the final of the women’s Pole Vault.
Felts finished in 16th place in the pole vault, which earned the redshirt junior the Second Team All-America distinction. Felts finished with a vault of 4.00m (13’1.5) to close out her outdoor season. Felts matches fellow Charlotte pole vaulter Sarah Brown, who also earned Second Team All-America honors after a 12th place finish in the pole vault during the 2021 NCAA Championships.
Felts has had a tremendous outdoor season after sitting out the previous outdoor and indoor seasons. Felts set the school record in the pole vault with a vault of 4.42m (14’6) at the Vertklasse earlier this season. Felts finished in first place in five of the ten meets that she competed in this year. This finish marks the first time that Felts finished outside the top three in the pole vault all season.
Felts was the highest finisher at the NCAA Championships in the women’s pole vault from Conference USA and the third-highest finisher from North Carolina.
