Palen Claims Second AAC Field Athlete of the Week Award

WICHITA – Wichita State’s Brady Palen was named the American Athletic Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced Tuesday.
The junior high jumper from Beloit, Kan. cleared a season-best 2.17m/7’1.5″ to place third at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational. Palen’s mark ranks 22nd in the nation and leads the Shocker high jump squad, which ranks 17th in the nation as a group.
He currently ranks second in the AAC, just one centimeter behind Rice’s Ese Amata.
Palen and the Shockers are back in action Friday and Saturday at the Ichabod Invitational in Topeka, Kan.
