STORRS, Conn. – The University of Connecticut men’s and women’s track and field teams prepare for a four-meet weekend with the Eagle Elite Invitational, BU Valentine Invite, Tyson Invitational, and the Yale Invitational on Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10.
The Huskies achieved strong results last weekend at Crimson Elite and the Scarlett & White Invite. Last time out, UConn finished with 16 top-five results, seven first-place finishes, and six personal bests.
For the men, senior Terrel Williams broke his own indoor school record in the 60-meter hurdles running a time of 7.70 seconds at Crimson Elite. Then, winning BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week, junior Marc Morrison took a first-place result and a third-best mark in program history at the Crimson Elite in the long jump going 7.59m.
On the women’s side, junior Natalia Surdej won BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week in the weight throw with a distance of 19.25m, marking the fourth-best in program history and securing a personal best. Freshman Anna Connors reached the top-10 all-time mark at UConn with the tenth-best time in the 400M running a personal best time of 55.43 seconds.
On Friday, Feb. 9, the Eagle Elite Invitational begins at 1 p.m. ET in Boston at the Track at New Balance, the BU David Hemery Valentine Invite begins at 9 a.m. ET at BU Track and Tennis Center, and the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., begins at 2:45 p.m. ET at Randall Tyson Track Center.
Then, on Saturday, Feb. 10, day two gets underway with the Eagle Elite starting at 9 a.m. ET, Valentine Invite starting at 9 a.m. ET, and the Tyson Invitational at 11:30 a.m. ET. Additionally, another squad will travel to New Haven, Conn., for the Yale Invitational beginning at 11 a.m. ET at Coxe Cage.
