Bulldog Women Place Seventh at Indoor Track and Field Championship

The Short Story: Yassine Kamara took home silver at the 2024 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), throwing a mark of 12.99m in the shot put as Bowie State finished seventh overall with a combined 18 points at the JDL Fast Track facility Monday afternoon.


  • Following Kamara’s second place finish in the shot put, Jazmyne McGrit earned a sixth place finish in the event with a toss of 11.60m while Na’Shae Early placed seventh at 11.27m.


  • Shakila Campbell scratched a mark of 10.42m in the triple jump for a top-15 finish while in the long jump she earned a top-20 spot at 4.56m for 19th overall.
  • Angelica Emory grabbed 20th overall in the long jump (4.55m).
  • Zahra Graham jumped 1.43m in the high jump for 14th place. 



  • A team of Ashley Ayukegba, Enwereji, Graham and Faulk combined for a time of 4:11.57 for eighth in the 4x400m relay.

Fayetteville State repeated as conference champions for the fourth consecutive season with a total of 138 points while Winston-Salem State (115) claimed runner-up, followed by St. Augustine’s (90.5), Virginia State (57.5), and Claflin (34) for third, fourth and fifth place finishes.
