After qualifying as part of the 4×1 and 4×4 relay teams last year, Alabama State’s Jamarion Stubbs will compete as an individual at this year’s NCAA Track and Field National Championships. This year Stubbs will compete in the 100 meter and the 200 meter at the NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
“Going individually it’s like kind of intimidating, but I know that I’m there just as much as the other athletes, I’ve worked just as hard as them to get there and I’m just ready to go out there and compete,” says Stubbs.
“Individual is great you know the relay team did amazing last year, but to have an individual to go to the national championship to be one of the top five actually number two in the nation going in that’s special and we knew this year if he stays healthy this was going to be his coming out party,” says Head Coach Ritchie Bean.
Also while Stubbs is out on the west coast, he will also be competing in the Olympic Trials.
Stubbs a native of Las Vegas, Nevada is a sophomore.
