JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville women’s track and field team successfully concluded day two of the Bob Hayes Invitational at Turf Field and Three-Lane Track on Saturday. The Dolphins secured three first-place performances, with no Phin finishing after third place throughout the entire meet.
The women’s 4×100 and 4×400 relays were both dominated by the Dolphins:
Cassie Thompson, Mariandree Chacon, Joanna Rogers, and Cassidra Thompson secured 1st place in the 4×100 relay.
Cassidra Thompson, Cassie Thompson, Mariandree Chacon, and Savannah Chadic repeated the first-place feat in the 4×400 relay.
Junior athlete Cassie Thompson also achieved a new personal record in the 100m, clocking a time of 11.69 to finish first, with Chacon closely following in 3rd place.
Chadic showcased her prowess in the 200m, finishing 3rd out of seven sprinters.
COACHES’ COMMENTS
“This was a great opening weekend for the outdoor season,” said Head Coach Bambi Brundage. “We had solid performances that we will continue to build upon.”
UP NEXT
The Dolphins will make a short trip to Orlando, Florida, to compete in the UCF Knights Invitational on Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
