Burroughs track and field win second straight meet | Sports

The Burroughs and field boys’ and girls’ teams hosted Hesperia in the second Mojave River League meet and for the second straight meet defeated its opponent to improve to 2-0 in the season. The Burros girls defeated the Scorpions 88.5 to 47.5, and the boys’ won 81 to 55. Head Coach Tony Martin gave his thoughts on the win over the Scorpions and improve to 2-0 on the season.

“It was good to get the win,” he said. “We have a plan to try to win a league championship and after going against Sultana it was nice to have a tougher challenge with Hesperia. The kids rose to the occasion and did what they needed to do. They raced and competed really well, and were able to get us the win.”
