LEXINGTON, Ky. – Mia-Claire Kezal concluded the NCAA East Preliminaries for the Navy track and field teams on Saturday at the UK Outdoor Track and Field Complex in Lexington, Ky.
Kezal placed 46th in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 11:26.18. The sophomore had a breakout season in the event. After placing ninth in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Patriot League Outdoor Championship last season, she clocked in the fifth-fastest time in school history at 10:23.57 to finish in third place this year. The performance helped her qualify for regionals for the first time in her career.
“It was a great season for Mia-Claire Kezal. She was a great leader for the team this year and she will be back stronger in the fall,” said Director of Track and Field / Cross Country Jamie Cook. It was a great experience for her and she looks forward to some much needed time off before she builds for cross country.”
