BETHLEHEM, Pa. – A squad of athletes from the Lehigh track and field team kick off the 2024 outdoor season on Friday and Saturday at the Army Open in West Point, N.Y.
The group of athletes competing features Mountain Hawks across all event groups with a majority being throwers.
On Friday, field events kick off the meet at 11 a.m. with the hammer and discus throws along with long jump and pole vault, while action on the track kicks off at noon with the 100m high hurdles.
Day two on Saturday begins at 9 a.m. with the javelin and shot put throws, followed by the high and triple jumps. Track events start at noon with the last event (4x400m) rounding out the meet at 5 p.m.
Lehigh’s outdoor schedule features 11 meets leading up the Patriot League Championships on May 3-4 at Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pa. The Mountain Hawks outdoor meeting of The Rivalry with Lafayette is scheduled for April 6 in Easton. One of the highlights of the schedule includes the prestigious Penn Relays April 25-27. Lehigh will also host the Covert Classic April 26-27 at the Goodman Track and Field Complex.
