Mavericks Compete at Bryan Clay and Cerritos Invitationals – Minnesota State University

Mankato, Minn. –This weekend, part of the Minnesota State men’s squad traveled to California, competing in two invitationals.
Junior Jacob Ziebarth competed at the Bryan Clay Invite on Friday in the high jump, finishing 12th with a height of 1.93m (6′ 4″).
On Saturday, senior James Gilbert took second in the long jump with a leap of 7.55m (24′ 9.25″). Placing sixth was junior Jalen McGee, after an outdoor personal best jump of 7.64m (24′ 5.75″). This lands McGee eighth on the MSU all-time outdoor top performances list, along with 21st in the national rankings for the season.
In the triple jump, junior Jordan Spencer placed seventh with a jump of 14.80m (48′ 6.75″), good for 14th on the MSU all-time list and 23rd nationally. Not far behind and tying for eighth place was senior Onyekachi Ukaobasi after jumping 14.74m (48′ 4.25″).
At the Cerritos Invite on Saturday, junior Jabez Reeves placed second with a time of 10.40s in the 100m dash. Senior Shemar Miller took fourth with a personal best time of 10.53s. The athletes now rank sixth and 14th on the MSU all-time list, respectively.
In the 110m hurdles, McGee took second and ties for 10th on the MSU all-time list after a time of 14.29s (2.3 m/s wind speed).
In a breezy 200m dash, Reeves crossed the line at 20.77s to place first, with a wind speed of 3.3 m/s. This personal best time ranks him fourth nationally and on the MSU all-time list. Sophomore Thomas Rosengren finished eighth after a personal best time of 21.75s, followed closely by McGee in ninth with a time of 21.93s.
Last for the weekend was sophomore Qai Hussey, finished third in the 400m dash with a time of 48.92s.
The Mavericks turn around to compete on Wednesday this week at the M City Classic and continuing competition into this coming weekend.
