Northwest’s Krafka signs with North Dakota State track & field

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – After a long and arduous decision-making process, Northwest’s finally made her college choice Monday.

The Vikings’ senior and field athlete finished in fourth place in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2023 state meet, where she also competes in pole vault.

Krafka said she had in-state offers from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, University of Omaha and Hastings College.

In the end, Krafka chose a different path, selecting . It’s a school she said checked all of her boxes.

”Location, Fargo is an awesome city, I loved it there, coaches, athletes, facilities and then my major which is architecture with an emphasis on interior design which was a little more difficult schools to school, because not all schools provided that,” Krafka said.

This is a decision the senior has agonized over for weeks and is glad to be over with.

”It feels like a huge weight off my shoulders, just something I finally don’t have to think about anymore and I got what I wanted too,” Krafka said.

She will still compete for Northwest in the upcoming and field season where she will participate in both the 100 meter hurdles and pole vault.
