Red Wolves Track and Field Continues West Coast Action


AZUSA, Calif./LONG BEACH, Calif. (4/12/24) – State and continued competition on the West Coast on Friday, competing in the Bryan Clay Invitational and Beach Invitational.

Olivia Walter opened the day by placing eighth in the ’s 10,000 meters, clocking a time of 35:44.52 that is fifth in school history.

Miranda Burgett finished her first collegiate heptathlon in ninth place with 5,102 points – a score that is ninth in program history.

Rahel Broemmel registered a personal-best time in the 800 meters, crossing the finish in 2:10.39. Cheyenne Melvin ran 2:10.15 in the invite section.

Hannes Fahl finished the men’s 800 meters invite in 30th place with a time of 1:49.36.

At the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Noa Isaia hurled 58.17m (190-10) to place 29th in the men’s hammer throw. Michelle Ogbemudia finished in 46th in the ’s event with a top mark of 49.02m (160-10).

Competition continued as of 10 p.m. CT, with results to be published after conclusion.

The Red Wolves will conclude action in California on Saturday, along with several athletes competing at the Little Rock Invitational, which will be broadcasted live on ESPN Plus.
