Springfield, Mass. – May 24, 2024 – All-region honors for the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced this week by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the conclusion of the outdoor campaign. The Springfield College men’s and women’s track and field programs had six student-athletes honored for their efforts.
Top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.
From the men’s squad, senior Anik Dole (Dubai, UAE), junior Joe Wong (Salem, Mass.), sophomores Daniel Hyde (Monroe, Conn.) and Jamil Manu (Manchester, Conn.) and first-year Mike Anderson (Cromwell, Conn.) were honored, while junior Samantha Paul (Albany, N.Y.) was recognized from the women’s team.
Dole registered the second fastest time in the 200-meter dash (21.50) and the fifth fastest time in the 100-meter dash (10.70) in the Mid-East region this season, Wong ranked fifth in the 800-meter run (1:51.83), Hyde and Manu were tied for fourth best in the high jump (1.95m) and Anderson ranked first in the 110-meter hurdles (14.54) and fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (56.16). Anderson’s time in the 100-meter hurdles broke the school record from 1975, while Wong’s time in the 800-meter run broke the school record from 2017.
Additionally, Dole (200-meter dash), Wong (800-meter run) and Anderson (400-meter hurdles) were all champions in their respective events at the 2024 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships at the end of April.
Paul registered the second-best mark in the region in the triple jump this year with a leap of 11.51-meters, which came at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships in May.
