TIGER SEASON OPENER
Towson, MD – Vermont Track and Field opened their 2024 outdoor season at Towson, as eight Catamounts competed in various field events. Aidan Peterson was the top finisher as he was victorious in the javelin, while Emma Wapshare was second on the women’s side in the javelin.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Peterson won the javelin with a throw of 53.75 meters, which is a personal best.
- Wapshare threw the javelin 37.45 meters, which was good enough for second.
- Kevin Mills was fourth in the javelin with a throw of 52.14 meters.
- Abby Martin finished fifth in the javelin with a throw of 33.30 meters.
- Cara Richardson placed 10th in the shot put with a throw of 10.67 meters, a new best for her. She also placed 22nd in the discus with a throw of 28.40 meters.
- Adriana Rodriguez was 10th in the discus, throwing 31.74 meters.
- Erin Geib was 14th in the hammer throw with a distance of 33.45 meters. She finished 15th in the discus, throwing it 30.54 meters.
- Carmella Thompson finished 22nd in the discus with a throw of 26.77 meters.

The Catamounts will return to action next weekend as they travel to Richmond to compete in the Richmond Fred Hardy Invitational.
