Thirteen Empire 8 Standouts Earn 2024 USTFCCCA Women’s Outdoor Track and Field All-Region Honors

Thirteen Empire 8 student-athletes from four institutions earned 2024 United States and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Women’s Outdoor Track and Field All-Region honors.

Olivia Gilbert and Anne Spila from Alfred University, Alaina Morley, Rosie Morse, and Lea Richard from Nazareth University, Veronica Duell, and Makenna King from St. John Fisher University, along with Hannah Allison, Allie Cary, Nora Devitt, Jane Fahy, Zeniyah Gholson and Mackenzie Mix from Utica University garnered the prestigious honor.

Duell, Fahy, King, Mix and Richard are now three-time All-Region selections during the outdoor season, while Spila is a two-time selection.

Fahy, King and Morse are set to compete at the 2024 Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships this week from Myrtle Beach, South .

 

To earn All-Region honors, an athlete must be one of the top-5 individuals in their event in their respective region on the TFRRS Descending Order List. In addition, each member of a region’s top-3 relay team was selected for the distinction.

All Empire 8 institutions compete in the NIagara region.

 

ALFRED UNIVERSITY

Olivia Gilbert, Senior — 800-Meter , 2:17.04 – fifth

^ Anne Spila, Junior — Heptathlon, 4,213 points – fourth

NAZARETH UNIVERSITY

Alaina Morley, Sophomore — Long Jump, 5.63 meters – fifth

* Rosie Morse, Sophomore — Pole Vault, 3.73 meters – second

% Lea Richard, Senior – Hammer Throw, 52.14 meters – second

ST. JOHN FISHER UNIVERSITY

% Veronica Duell, Junior — Long Jump, 5.68 meters – fourth

* % Makenna King, Senior — Discus, 49.26 meters – first

% Makenna King, Senior — Shot Put, 13.34 meters – fourth

UTICA UNIVERSITY

Hannah Allison, Freshman – High Jump, 1.60 meters – tied for fifth

Allie Cary, Freshman – Discus, 44.02 meters – third

Nora Devitt, Junior – , 11.35 meters – fifth

Zeniyah Gholson, Sophomore – , 11.36 meters – fourth

% Mackenzie Mix, Sophomore — 100-Meters, 12.21 seconds – fifth
