Three women’s track and field athletes earn all-region accolades




Three Hamilton College athletes earned 2024 Division III Women’s Outdoor All-Region honors on Friday, May 17 when they were announced by the U.S. and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The top five individuals in each event and each member of a top-three ranked relay from each region received all-region status. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.

Betsy Overstrum ’24 (Wallingford, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) picked up all-region outdoor honors for the second time in her Hamilton career. Overstrum, who made the list for the 3,000-meter steeplechase after the 2022 season, was on it again for the same event. Her personal-record time of 11:12.11 from the All-Atlantic Region Conference Outdoor on May 15 was ranked fifth in the Niagara Region.

Kate Scibelli ’26 (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy), who transferred to Hamilton before the 2023-24 season, was all-region for the 800-meter . Scibelli posted a time of 2:16.94 at the NESCAC  on April 27 — good for fourth in the Niagara Region.

Hannah Turner ’26 (Middlebury, Vt./Middlebury Union HS)was all-region for the 400-meter for the first time. Turner finished in fifth place at the NESCAC with a team-record time of 1:04.84 on April 27. Her time put her fourth on the performance list in the Niagara Region.
