Eliana Saunders is the PacWest Field Athlete of the Week, after she cleared a height of 1.73m (5’8″) in the high jump at the Mangrum Invitational this past Friday. With the provisional clearance, Saunders is ranked No. 3 on the national list.
“It was great to get the high jump qualifying mark completed in her first outdoor competition this spring,” said head coach Jack Hoyt, “I think it is going to be a great year for her!”
Saunders is coming off of an indoor season in which she earned All-American distinction with a third-place finish at Nationals. She is now a three-time high jump All-American in her career, doing so twice indoors, as well as a fourth-place finish at outdoor Nationals last spring.
