Multiple Chickasha athletes are now record holders.
Chickasha track and field traveled to Kingfisher last week to compete in the Western Conference meet. A couple of the athletes broke conference records Friday.
Chickasha coaches Nancy Waters and Cristie Oliver said freshman Aiden Williams broke the record in the 400-meter dash, and senior Liam Crowl broke the record in the 110-meter hurdles.
Williams finished first in the 400 event, finishing the race with a time of 50.65 seconds. Waters said the previous record was 50.77, and Oliver said Williams also captured the 400 record in the conference meet as an eighth grader.
Oliver said Williams beat his eighth-grade time by three seconds, and Friday’s time is not even his fastest in the event this year.
As for Crowl, he took first in the 110 hurdles and finished with a time of 15.50. Waters said the previous record was 16.01.
Crowl also finished sixth in the 300-meter hurdles.
