Track and Field Wraps Up Weekend With Flurry of Personal Bests

DURHAM, NH. – Vermont and concluded their final meet of the regular season that saw throwers compete on Friday afternoon while the rest competed throughout the day on Saturday. The Catamounts had many record personal bests.

“We accomplished a lot today, both in terms of some outstanding lifetime bests, and some really good tune-ups East,” said Head Coach Matt Belfield. “It is also an emotional day as some of our seniors finished their careers today. I’m grateful to our seniors giving their best, from a crazy Covid start through the challenges that followed. We are appreciative too, to their families for their support today in honoring them, and for the years of helping along.”
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Elizabeth Lembach placed third in the 5000, finishing with a time of 19:27.97.
  • Lily Porth finished fourth in the 1500 4:42.68, a new personal best.
  • Cameron Kirn placed fourth in the 400 Dash with a time of 51.58.
  • The men’s 4×400 relay placed fourth, finishing with a time of 3:42.36.
  • Kenneth Morrissey finished fourth in the 1500 with a time of 3:59.45.
  • Rachel Barba placed fourth in the 400, finishing with a time of 59.78.
  • Noah Beayon placed fifth in the 100, finishing with a time of 11.34, a new personal best.
  • Samantha Alexander finished fifth in the discus as she threw for 41.46 meters.
  • Carolyn Doyle placed fifth in the , finishing with a time of 2:21.64.
  • Sadie Holmes earned sixth in the 1500 with a 4:46.55 time, a new personal best.
  • Jacob Schindler finished sixth in the pole vault with a height of 4.10 meters.
  • Will Locke finished sixth in the 1500 with a time of 3:59.89, a new personal best.
  • Morgan Ryan finished 7th in the pole vault with a height of 3.05 meters, a new personal best.
  • Clare Kelly placed seventh with a time of 4:46.58 in the 1500.
  • Lily Campbell earned seventh with a time of 1:02.22 in the 400.

UP NEXT
Vermont returns to action next week when they compete in the East Championships at UMBC on May 4th and 5th.
