MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic (RPI) men’s and women’s track teams had individuals on display over the weekend, with the Engineers sporting multiple athletes at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
On the men’s side, junior James Zeolla kicked off the action over the weekend for the men’s side, finishing T-6 in the Men’s Pole Vault, scoring a 16-2.5 for a season-best on Thursday. Following that up was appearances from Mitchell Dailey and Vincent Simonetti in the Men’s 10,000m final later that night. Dailey came out with with the top finish of the two, bringing home a fourth place finish with a time of 30:49.49.
After a quiet Friday for RPI, Saturday saw more distance for the Engineers. Both Simonetti and Cory Kennedy ran in the Men’s 5,000m Saturday evening, with Kennedy finishing ninth with a time of 14:24.65 and Simonetti scoring a 13th place finish with a time of 14:28.02.
For the women’s team, freshman Julianne Bleskoski competed in the Women’s 5,000m on Saturday evening, posting a 12th place finish with a time of 17:22.00.
