CANYON, TX – West Texas A&M No. 3 Buffs and No. 4 Lady Buffs are set to defend their crowns at the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships this weekend on May 9-11. The LSC Championship meet is hosted by Angelo State University at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field in San Angelo, Texas.

LSC CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY

The Buffs and Lady Buffs are looking for four-peats this outdoor season after winning the past three consecutive LSC Championships since 2020. 

 

NOTABLES

• Isaac Botsio qualified for the Olympics in the 4×100 with Team Ghana. Botsio will be competing in the 100m, 200m and 4×100 for the Buffs
• Corrssia Perry ranks top-3 in LSC in the 100m, 200m and 400m and is a part of the 4×400 relay for the Lady Buffs 
• William Amponsah and Florance Uwajeneza are national leaders in the 10,000m and rank 1st in LSC 
• Uwajeneza looks to defend LSC title in the 10,000m and 5,000m 
• DeOndra Green is the sole veteran of the Lady Buffs 4×100 relay as they look to defend their LSC title 
• Hamdi Ali looks to defend his title in the High Jump 
• Buffs 4×100 broke the NCAA DII National record last year and look to defend their LSC title while trying to break their own record 
• Buffs 4×400 look to defend their LSC title 

 
SCHEDULE
The multis will kick off first on Thursday at 12:00p.m. CT followed by the Hammer as the first field event at 3:00p.m. with the 1500m running events starting at 6:30p.m 
 
Friday will start at 10:30a.m. with the multis finishing their final events before heading to the podium. The Discus will take place at 3:00p.m. then the 800m at 6:30p.m.

West Texas A&M will find out declarations for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday, May 12. National Championships will be held at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas from May 23-25.
