Several area student-athletes and teams competed at the Northwest Suburban Conference championships Thursday. Among the local winners: the Maple Grove boys 4×200 relay team of Jack Weigel, Drake Wegscheid, Kenyan Alle, and Jon Lunde earned a first place finish of 1:28.02, which also broke the Maple Grove school record. Totino-Grace’s Matthew Lindgren placed first overall in the 1600m with a time of 4:18.61. In boys shot put, Luke Pappas of Armstrong earn the top marks with a PR throw of 54-05.25. The girls long jump champion was Osseo’s Payton Young, marking an 18-04.00. Blaine won both the boys and girls team championships.
