The 20th edition of the IRONMAN African Championships is set to take place this weekend in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape, and organisers are more excited than ever.
This year’s edition of the gruelling sport will revert back to its original format which includes swimming, bike riding and running.
Over 2000 athletes are expected to participate, eighty of which are professionals.
This one-day event has expanded into a weekend affair, hosting many other mini events leading into the main event on Sunday.
