The University of Hawai‘i women’s track and field team will look to extend its run of top-three finishes at the Big West Championships this weekend in Long Beach, California.
The Rainbow Wahine have placed among the top three teams in each of the past three conference championship meets, a stretch that began with a runner-up finish in 2022, their first top-three finish since 1985. Hawai‘i has also landed at least six athletes on the podium in each of those years.
Four Rainbow Wahine enter the meet as former Big West gold medalists, including senior Lilian Turban. A three-time podium finisher, Turban captured the conference high jump title in 2023 and currently leads the league in the javelin while ranking fifth in the shot put.
