Tokyo Olympics 2020 day 3 News

Women’s Hammer Throw Olympics – Top of qualification was a Polish athlete with a distance of 76.99m

Women’s steeplechase Olympics – No real shocks as Baranian athlete Yavi qualifies as fastest with a time of 9:10.80. All american’s qualify to the final being the only nation with 3 athletes in the 15 person final.

Women’s long jump Olympics – 8 athletes jumped the auto qualification with the furthest jump being 7.00m. German Mihambo seems to be the favourite. She jumped the 2nd furthest with 6.98m.

Women’s Shot put Olympic final – Gong of China wins by a huge margin with a monstrous throw of 20.58. Raven Saunders was 2nd with 19.79 and Veteran Valrie adams took third in 19.62m

Men’s 400m Olympics – Michael Cherry progresses with the fastest time in 44.82. Other favourites such as Steven Gardiner and Michael Norman both ran in the 45s to auto qualify.

Men’s highjump – My favourite moment of the Olympics so far as Tamberi and Barshim share gold after having the exact same high jump record. We can’t show the video due to copyright but I strongly suggest you check it out. Maksim Nedasekau takes bronze. All athletes jumping 2.37m.

Men’s 100m Olympics final – Su impressed the most in the heats with 9.83. The biggest shock was pre Olympics favourite Trayvin Bromell not making the final.

Come the final it was italian jacobs who got gold with 9.80. Quicker than when Bolt won in Rio. Fred Kerley got 2nd in 9.84 and Andre De Grasse takes third in 9.89 coming from miles back. All athletes who finished ran sub 10 seconds.

Women’s 100m Hurdles Olympics – Camacho-quinn runs an Olympic record with a time of 12.26. Kendra Harrison World record Holder also progresses, but Jamaica failed to make it 3 in the final as Thompson clipped a hurdle and failed to finish.

Women’s triple jump Olympic final – Rojas absolutely destroys the 26 year old triple jump World record, and seems like she can jump much further after her 3m middle phase. Patricia Mamona takes silver and Anan Peleteitro bronze.

Men’s 800m Olympics – Fergus Rotich and Peter Bol impress the most both with auto qualifications of low 1:44. You had to run 1:44.30 to qualify as a fastest loser. Only one American and 0 British athletes made the final. Adding to the shock was originally fastest athlete of the year Nijel Amos tripped and didn’t make the final. But he has been added to the final, which is the beauty of a nine lane track.

Men’s 400m Hurdles – Karsten Warholm qualifies as fastest with 47.30 Somewhat of an anticlimax as the two favourites were put in the Semi final, as Benjamin also easily qualifies. You had to run sub 48 seconds to receive a fastest losers spot for the final.

Performance of the day goes to both Italains Jacobs and Tamberi. Jacobs hadn’t ran inside of 10 seconds. Obviously Rojas also gets performance of the day with her World record.

Shock of the day would be Trayvon Bromell not making the 100m final and all the 800m drama.
